Improving the training of local police officers in their service to the citizens is one of the Municipal Training Delpla goal for the year 2010, and in this line, within the activities envisaged under this Plan have been held during the April two courses, one around traffic accidents and another to prevent deaths from cardiac arrest.
Between 7 and 23 April, the facilities of the School of Public Safety of the City of Cartagena (ESPAC) hosted a course on traffic accident reconstruction (level II), attended by 19 participants, managers and Local Police had already passed the first level.
With this training activity were able to acquire specific knowledge about automotive and police matters so that, in a traffic accident, to conduct a full investigation, mainly by visual inspection of the items that have been involved in the accident, such as the vehicle ( lights, tires), route or, where appropriate, people who have been involved.
This course was taught by faculty of the Local Police, Guardia Civil and Doctors of the Institute of Legal Medicine in Cartagena.
The second seminar, held on 26 and 27 April, dealt with CPR, DE21 assisted participants and aimed at reducing mortality and sequelae caused the cardiac arrest.
To do this, they have shown to staff the basic life support among non-medical personnel, as recommended by the European Resuscitation Council, which is based on strategies to encourage early defibrillation to cardiac arrest and facilitate the integration of various stakeholders in the chain of survival.
In this case, the course has been taught by specialists in Intensive Care and Advanced Life Support.
