Coinciding with the celebration of World Book Day, yesterday launched the book tuvolugar Looking back (Anthology of Stories of Our Elders), whose authors are a group of students from the Regional Centre for Adult Education.
The ceremony was held at the Hall of History Museum Military Artillery, and was attended by the Director General of Vocational and Adult Education of the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment, Joaquín Buendía, Councilmember Education, Josefa Maroto, and Director of Regional Centre for Adult Education, Juana Martínez Mercader, along with other teachers.
Looking back is a collection of 66 stories in which students of the Center tell us about their experiences of childhood and youth, framed by different populations of the Campo de Cartagena, Isla Plana and quarries from La Union, Portman and Algar, through the neighborhoods of Cartagena de San Anton, San José Obrero, San Ginés and the old town.
The stories have been divided by theme: My roots, migration, War, Child Labor, School, Offices, Vicissitudes and Festivities.
With this anthology has achieved two objectives.
On the one hand, looking back, is a reader friendly and easy to motivate our older students to read, and on the other, is a rich and interesting material to show daily life and customs of the people of our land Over the past century.
