More than 300 young Murcia of the three universities, schools and associations throughout the region discussed tomorrow at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena on new economic and social models in Europe in the fourth edition of 'debatejoven.eu'.
The Minister of Presidency and Public Administration, María Pedro Reverte, opened the day (9:15 pm Auditorium of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, a former Navy Hospital), accompanied by the secretary general of the Technical University, José Luján, and Director General of Local Government, Institutional and External Relations, Juan Antonio Morales.
This year we have set a total of 25 teams across the web www.debatejoven.eu, where they take several weeks participating in the first phase of the debate, consisting of drawing conclusions on the subject of this issue, 'Towards a new economic model and social development in Europe ", who will present Thursday in Cartagena.
The activity is organized by the Ministry of the Presidency and government, through the Directorate General of Local Government, Institutional and External Relations, with the collaboration of three universities in the region, municipalities and youth associations.
The 'debatejoven.eu' is aimed at youth in the Region of Murcia, in order to discuss topical European issues and promote knowledge and awareness about what it means to belong to the EU.
The theme 'Towards a new economic and social model in Europe', aims to invite young people to discuss the elements that must be taken into account in the future growth strategy of the EU, the role of citizens in it, the importance education and means to combat poverty and social exclusion in Europe.
Program
Following the inauguration will be held a roundtable with the participation of MEP EPP Cristina Gutiérrez Cortines, President of the European Network for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion in Spain, Carlos Susie, and the journalist and political analyst Carlos Buhigas.
The rest of the morning, the 25 groups formed by the young participants will present their proposals for 'A new economic and social model in Europe' and 'Towards a fairer society: poverty and social exclusion in Europe. "
The Director General of Local Government, Institutional and External Relations, Juan Antonio Morales, will close the day (14:00 hours) to proceed, finally, to draw the trip to visit the European institutions in Brussels.
More than 3,000 participants
The activity of 'debatejoven.eu' consists of three phases.
The first is the ongoing debate within the working groups in the faculties, schools, municipalities and associations, in addition to any young person interested, through the webwww.debatejoven.eu.
The second activity is the celebration tomorrow, a day for sharing the findings of the working groups in the debate to be held at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.
To attend the same bus will leave from the Plaza de la Cruz Roja de Murcia, at eight o'clock.
The third stage is a visit to European institutions of the young men graced the drawing to be held publicly at the end of the day tomorrow.
