IU + LV has filed a motion in the regional Assembly requesting the establishment of a commission of inquiry to clarify the causes that led to a gas leak in the case of the Cartagena city on Saturday, April 17.
The coalition has also raised several requests for Directors of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, and Enterprise, Salvador Marin, and the port city hall, forward a copy of the report identifying the cause of the leak.
The head of the Environment of UTIs in the Murcia Region, Victoria Rodriguez, said that "these kinds of accidents are those that have to improve our detection systems, warning the population and evacuation if necessary."
It also stressed the need to "clarify the causes of the leak and to punish those who caused it," recalling that companies must report any incident to the competent authorities "to prevent greater evils."
