50 new businesses in Cartagena by the Service Opportunity (19/04/2010)

The Minister of Universities and Research Company, Salvador Marín, accompanied by the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, and representatives of the sectors that make up the business and economic fabric of the city, today presented the annual report CEEIC Advisory Service Opportunities Business in the District of Cartagena, which was launched in early 2009 with the aim of boosting business in the area, which shows the data which have resulted 150 new businesses or expanding existing ones.

The Mayor has identified two shortcomings to which must be faced, building a new port to be competitive in the Mediterranean, and the need for investment in rail infrastructure, not only for passenger transport but for the goods.

Within the review implementation of the Service Business Opportunities, business opportunities are 61 identified and analyzed, of which 52 have an effective opportunity negocioactualmente and moved to SMEs in the Region likely to meet those demands.

It has made throughout this year has been running more than 1,700 contacts empresaspara disclose opportunities through mailings, telephone and information sessions in collaboration with local governments and developers.

Along with the mayor and the counselor, the report was attended by the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Miguel Martinez, vice president of the Regional Confederation of Organizations of Cartagena, Javier Gómez Vizcaino, the president of the AJE-Cartagena, Pedro Pablo Hernandez, and the director of INFO, Juan José Beltrán.
