The Minister of Universities and Research Company, Salvador Marín, today introduced the report of the annual implementation status of the Advisory Service for Business Opportunities in the District of Cartagena launched in early 2009 to revitalize the business in the Shire, which shows that this year have been finalized operating 150 new businesses or expanding existing ones.
This figure is the result of 61 business opportunities identified and analyzed by the Service.
Of these, 52 have an effective opportunity to present business and moved to all SMEs in the Region likely to meet those demands and create jobs and wealth.
The analysis of business opportunities has also led to the exploration of 15 new market niches, which are taking shape and looking to offer new investors and entrepreneurs.
This is the review implementation of the Business Opportunities Service of the District of Cartagena initiative launched by the Ministry of Universities, Business and Research through the Institute of Development, which aims to promote the access of SMEs to regional induced business activities of large investment projects and opportunities in emerging sectors in that region.
During the presentation of the report, which was attended by the Mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreriro and the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Cartagena, Miguel Martinez, vice president of the Regional Confederation of Organizations of Cartagena, Javier Gómez-Vizcaino President Aje-Cartagena, Pedro Pablo Hernandez, and the director of Info, Juan José Beltrán.
Also, the Advisory Service Business Opportunities in the District of Cartagena has carried out this year contact with over 1,700 companies, to publicize these opportunities through mailings, telephone contacts, and briefings held in collaboration with local governments and developers, among others, the municipalities of La Union, Torre Pacheco, Fuente Alamo and the European Centre of Enterprises and Innovation of Cartagena.
This service also has a website, www.oportunidadesdenegocios.info, where companies and entrepreneurs can get information and advice on opportunities for existing SMEs and entrepreneurs, and new market niches that are given.
Currently, this service is also offered in the Shire of Guadalentín, the objective being that "all districts of the region is this service available, in order to build and open new lines of business to encourage the regional economy, according to Marin.
New market niches
The Minister of Enterprise also referred to new market niches that are emerging from the report that "tell us the new sectors to be covered by employers to meet current and future demands, we are sure that will help guide, strengthen and direct the industrial model of the area for years to come. "

In this regard stated that "appear new business opportunities induced by the activities performed by industrial companies in Cartagena, indicating that companies gradually are adapting to the needs arising from the projects develop."
Salvador Marin recalled the alignment of this branch of service Business Opportunities with the Region of Murcia Entrepreneurship Plan and strengthening the performance of the Institute of Development in the European Business and Innovation Cartagena (CEEIC) and intensifying assistance to entrepreneurs in the industrial estates in the Region of Murcia through Puntoinfo.
