Cartagena City Council has expanded the number of bicycle parking in the city with the addition of six new sites with a total of 72 seats, located in the Plaza del Rey, Calle Real, UPCT Campus Faculty of Business, Administration Building Round Hall in Union City, Conservatory of Music at Calle Jorge Juan, Alameda St. Anton in the Shield Area Neighborhood Association and Sauces.
With these new additions, and 51 bicycle parking facilities are there in Cartagena, with 598 beds in total.
This action is part of the program + Bike to promote the use of the bicycle in urban and suburban areas, which belongs to the Ministry of Development has launched the City Council through the Department of Sustainable Development.
The Council already gave the town of the city of numerous bicycle parking to meet the demand generated in those places most frequented by urban cyclists, a total of 45 sites with 466 seats.
In addition, these sites already have schools in Los Belones and La Manga, thus meeting the demands of students and teachers who regularly use bicycles as transportation.
