Telecommunications applications in areas such as defense, television, the health of citizens or satellite communications are some of the themes developed in the next edition of Telecofórum, to be held from 19 to 21 April in Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena.
The meeting, organized by the School of Telecommunications Engineering of the UPCT, is part of the Annual Forum of the Information Society (SICARM) and has the support of the Integra and the financing of the Autonomous Community.
The conference, which will inaugurate the Minister of Economy and Finance, Inmaculada Garcia and the rector of the UPCT, Felix Faure, featuring some of the leading companies in their sectors to submit applications and developments related to information technology.
Bernardo Campillo, a specialist in electronic devices of Huawei Technologies, the largest maker of networking and telecommunications equipment in China and one of the world leaders in this industry, will present "E-Health M2M or when your refrigerator knows you have a fever."
M2M is a device that enables remote patient monitoring, allowing medical monitoring of patients in their own homes.
The meeting will also include Eurocopter, the world's leading helicopter manufacturer; Hisdesat world's first commercial provider to provide satellite communications services in X and Ka band exclusively governmental applications, Siemens, Vodafone, Navantia, GTM TV, Zeromóvil , COTA or Aquiline Group with a presentation on the productivity of SMEs linked to technological backwardness.
During the conference will present the movie "Carthage.
Days of War and Peace ", a documentary history of 3D animation produced by the Integra Foundation.
The program includes a lecture by the Maritime Action Admiral Emilio José Nieto Manso on maritime safety and lectures by experts in information technology at the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium), the Supercomputing Center Science Park Foundation and the Official College Murcia Telecommunications Engineering and Telecommunication Engineers.
During the celebration of Telecofórum will present the experiences of several spin - off companies created by students from the School of Telecommunications Engineering (Microingenia Jaime Fernández-Caro, Alejandro Alvarez de Aurorasat and radiative Ricardo Marmol engineering).
In addition, a round table discussion will address the new qualifications in the context of the European higher education and its implications in the field of telecommunications and will be a presentation of the research groups present in the school.
