A group of 32 students at the College Pays d'Orthe (Peyrehorade, France), accompanied by three teachers, Cartagena are participating in an exchange with 29 students and three teachers of IES El Bohio, already last March in cited French city.
On the occasion of your stay in our city, this morning visited the Palace Hall where they were received by the Councillor for Youth, Ruth María Collado, that in addition to say a few words of welcome, they have been presented with a souvenir of City Hall.
This is the first language and cultural exchange makes the IES El Bohio with France and is included in delPrograma IDEAS (Initiatives for Educational Revitalization in secondary students) with the collaboration of the Youth Council of the City of Cartagena.
This is an extracurricular activity given by the French Department of IES El Bohio and the Department of Spanish at the College of Peyrehorade Pays d'Orthe, in which both Spanish and French students staying in their homes for for a week to learn ways of life different from yours, other cultural traditions and above all to communicate in French and Spanish respectively and see its usefulness.
The goal is to open between students new ways of communication at all levels and especially with students from a foreign country with whom they can maintain ties possibly your entire life.
Both the trip to France and Spain has undertaken a program of varied activities.
Thus, in Peyrehorade students were greeted by the mayor at city hall where they also give a coin as a souvenir of the city and shirts with the logo of Peyrehorade and visited cities like Biarritz, Dax and Bayonne and other places.
In Cartagena French students visited the museum this week ARQVA Underwater Archaeology, the Roman Theatre and the Civil War refugees, as well as other significant landmarks of the city.
