Lysistrata by Aristophanes in the Archaeological Museum (13/04/2010)

The Municipal Archaeological Museum gardens Enrique Escudero de Castro will take center stage on Wednesday, April 14, after 19 hours, the group will represent Madrid Catalifa Lysistrata of Aristophanes, in l XXVII European Youth Festival that Greco-Roman Theatre is held these days in Cartagena.

Lysistrata is the wife of an Athenian soldier who, tired of the incessant wars between Athens and Sparta, brings together women from both sides and proposes to start a sex strike.

The idea is not liked at first, but she manages to convince all women of Greece to refrain from sex with their husbands until peace sign.

In the end, the men decide to stop fighting ending the strike that had begun their women.
