Councillor for Education, Josefa Maroto, along with the managing director of Aquagest Murcia, José Juan González, presented the educational program Gotagotham Dive, who have organized with the aim of spreading among smaller the responsible use of water showing where it comes from, how it is collected, how it is drinkable and what happens when it goes to the sewer, the idea is to teach them to be responsible and why they should be, stressed José Juan González.
The program is aimed at school children grades 2, 3, 4 and Primary 5, about 3,500 across the county, and has a meeting room, which will be taught by instructors trained by Aquagest, and a case of teaching material for DVDs and games, to be shared by teacher and student.
In principle, during the remainder of this course will develop an educational program in six schools, with about 200 students who currently participate in the campaign of City Environment slope, extending the course next to the other primary schools.
As noted the Councillor for Education, this program is a continuation of that and we started last year, also Aquagest, which under the name Cartagota and through an interactive educational CD from schools in the responsible use of water in the day.
Awareness and responsibility WATER
According to the managing director of Aquagest, José Juan González, in Cartagena have well understood that water is a scarce and therefore proved to be very aware at the time of use.
This is seen in data from 2009, when water consumption was reduced by 3.8 percent over 2008, despite the number of subscribers experiencing unincremento 1.06 percent.
As for future investments in water supply network, Gonzalez recalled that Cartagena is one of the few cities that has a Management Plan Network included in rates, which expects investments to maintain the service.
Also, do not forget improvements to sewers and sewage network to be carried out with funds under Plan E (sewage-La Isla Plana Azohía, rainwater catcher Ramon y Cajal, etc.).
