The high level shown by the young performers from across the region participating in this year's contest between strings and brass arranged by the Youth Council, yesterday was evident in the Piano Concerto in which the participants, many of them with only 12 years old, delighted from beginning to the end the audience.
The jury's task was difficult, determining the final seven were moving into the next phase which will take place on April 12 at the Auditorium of the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena, at 19.00 hours.
The jury was composed by Francisco Javier Martinez Aranda, Andres Molina Chinchilla, Oscar Requena Toulouse, Gustavo Moreno Muñoz and Pedro Contreras Almela, and as the semifinalists is selected by Francisco José García Verdú, David López Escudero, Luis Losada Miguel Abellán, José Manuel Ruiz Canovas, Olga Albasini Garaulet, Angel Martinez and Sergio House Colmeiro Salgado.
With Piano mode is terminated the first stage of the competition, so that each of the finalists who have passed the first round of the competition will participate in the second series of concerts that will take place from 12 April in the Auditorium of the Conservatory of this town, where you can enjoy great performances in the categories of: Woodwinds, Guitar, Piano and Brass.
The jury's final decision will be announced in laClausura of this Contest, which will be held on May 7 at the Auditorium of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, where they receive their awards.
