Graphic Reporters Association of Newspapers and TV in the Region of Murcia, in collaboration with the Culture Department of the City of Cartagena and the Historical Center of Photography in the Region of Murcia (CEHIFORM), has called for the fourth consecutive year the Competition Photo Press Carlos Gallego, in memory of the admired photographer.
The event, which has been submitted by the Councillor for Culture, Rosario Montero with the president of the Association of Graphic Reporters, Juan Francisco Moreno, reward those photographs with a special ability to express the informative character of a fact that occurred in the country.
In addition, other regional award will be given the same amount for the best photograph or collection with a special ability to express the informative character of a fact that occurred in the Region of Murcia and its author is a resident in that region.
As the provision of two prizes of 2,000 euros.
The councilor explained that can not be made more than one prize in the same author, so on the basis of this fourth edition has been established that in the event of a national award rests in a photograph or collection made in the Region of Murcia , and author residing in that region, was awarded two second prizes of 1,000 euros to photographs or collections chosen by jurors from among all those submitted to the contest, except those made by the national award winner.
Another innovation is changing the name of the event, introducing the term of the Press, to get closer to the real work of the journalist and set the final name of the contest, as Moreno pointed out.
The deadline for registration, which is free, will close on June 30 and both the winning photograph as the finalists will be exhibited along with the annual exhibition of photojournalism Murcia.
The exhibit will be displayed from October at the Centro Cultural Ramón Alonso Luzzy.
