Councillor for Education, Josefa Maroto, and School Board President of the Region of Murcia, Luis Navarro Candel, today presented the Roundtable on "Education, family and technology ', held on Tuesday 16 March at 19 hours in the auditorium of the Military Historical Museum of Cartagena, sponsored by the School Board of the Region of Murcia in relation to the Municipal School Boards, in preparation for the annual Institutional Meeting to be held next April.

This preparatory roundtable will be held in 13 municipalities in the region, whose population represents over 80% of the educational community at the regional level.

The issue in these are current issues of concern to all parties involved in the field of education, such as technology and Internet use by kids at home, highlighted Maroto.

In this regard, Luis Navarro emphasized the purpose of these meetings, which is that those attending them, both parents, as teachers, as students, as representatives of key constituencies, know the benefits but also the risks of new technologies for our children at home to meet them and be aware of the problems they can create with the rise of social networks today.

The content to be covered in Cartagena roundtable will focus on new technologies in education, the use of Information Technology and Communication (ICT) at home, benefits and risks of social networks and learn from experiences in the use of ICTs.

As members of this board, will be Antonio Guirado Puerta, Engineer of the Integra Foundation that works with this meeting, José Adolfo López Navarro, director of Education Projects Information Management Service of the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment, Javier Orrico Martínez, Professor of Language and Literature, and Francisco Martínez Sánchez, professor at the University of Murcia, acting as moderator Damián Pérez Olmos, municipal coordinator of Education and Secretary of the Municipal School.
