Students visiting Norwegian Leonardo Palace Hall on Tuesday (08/03/2010)

Councillor for Education of the City of Cartagena, Joseph Marotta, will on Tuesday March 9 at the Palace Hall to a group of six students and two teachers from the Vocational School videregående Lonborg, Bergen (Norway), which will be the city until March 18 as part of the program within Leonardo da Vinci.

The reception will take place at 10.30 am in the Reception Room of the Town Hall, will also feature the participation of students and teachers of IES Mediterranean, which will accompany the Norwegians during his stay in the city.

The purpose of this visit is to conduct a training of the students stay in nursery schools of the City of Cartagena (Municipal Children Schools and The Miraculous Virgin of Charity), with the city of Cartagena host partner of this European initiative.

For its part, the IES Mediterranean through Formative Family Professional education and social services, acts as an intermediary Partner organizing training room, reception of Norwegian students, as well as workshops and activities to be implemented on the Institute during the visit of students from Bergen.

During his stay in Cartagena is expected also that the students also made several visits of cultural interest to know the town, its history and most important monuments.

LEONARDO TRAINING PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

The specific objectives of the Leonardo da Vinci exchange for these training initiatives are:

Qualitatively and quantitatively improve the mobility of people in initial and continuing vocational training in Europe.

The quality and quantity of cooperation between institutions or organizations providing learning opportunities, enterprises, social partners and other relevant bodies throughout Europe.

Facilitate the development of innovative practices in the areas of education and non-tertiary vocational training and transfer, even between different countries.

Improve transparency and recognition of qualifications and competences including those acquired through non-formal and informal.

Promote the learning of modern foreign languages.

Support the development of content, services, pedagogies and practice for lifelong learning based on Information Technologies and Communication.
