The production model linked to production is what has caused the hardness and intensity of the crisis, both in the region and in the same municipality of Cartagena.
In that sense, UPyD has already expressed its opposition to the urbanization of Cala Reona and intent of the City Council to allow development on land adjacent to the Natural Park of Calblanque.
The local government of Cartagena has proceeded to convert the ground floor currently rated as the Environmental Protection and Forest Protection and Common land for development.
With this, the open season Cartagena Consistory to approve development projects in the area.
It is also contemplated the possibility of reclassifying for development a large expanse of the southern part of the Mar Menor.
Besides focusing on an exhausted model, mass urbanization could occur, would have a very negative environmental consequences for the environment of Mar Menor and the regional park area Calblanque.
UPyD confident that the process of revising the General Plan by the Autonomous Community and the State itself, these negative aspects are changed.
