The Youth Council of the City of Cartagena and the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena, in its thirteenth edition, has organized a series of promotional gigs to support our young musicians, winners in the twelfth edition of Between strings and brass.
The novice performers had the opportunity to work with the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena in Jumilla, Murcia and the port city itself, between the months of November and December of last year 2009.
After the promotional gigs, the 61 young people were presented to the XIII edition of the contest, will perform in the auditorium to present their music.
The concerts begin with the form of brass on 9 March and the other modes will be developed over the months of March and April.
In this edition, the young performers will demonstrate their artistic talents in six different disciplines: brass, percussion, strings, guitar, woodwinds and piano.
The young participants, who must be pursuing professional studies in music of the instrument with which they compete, will perform two classical pieces, both edited, free choice of styles.
All auditions will be held in the Auditorium of the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Cartagena.
The start time of the semifinals will be at 18:00 hours, except for rope to begin at 17:00 am and end at 19:00.
The Awards and the Closing Concert will be held on May 7 at the Auditorium of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, a place where they will announce the verdict of the jury in each of the modalities.

The entrance to the promotional gigs, auditions and evening concert will be free until all seats.
