Pilar Barreiro The mayor has defended this morning the right to raise Cartagena tourist developments on the coast if they are moderate and low impact.
Barreiro pointed out that the municipal proposal to declare part of Cala developable Reona means that in the next 20 years only allowed to be built with a minimum density in a line of less than 800 meters of the 107 kilometers of coastline that is in the municipality of Cartagena and remain mostly untouched.
As you may recall, the first technical proposal for the amendment of the Urban General Plan included the construction-free zones without protection from the southern shore of Mar Menor, La Azohía, Isla Plana and Cala Reona.
However, during the preparation of the final document the Municipal Government eliminated the possibility of new developments in the Mar Menor, Isla Plana and La Azohía.
The mayor has made this reality in contrast to the planning practiced by other coastal towns, whose coastline is filled and for which there are no reviews.
