The head of IU Environment in the Region, Victoria Rodriguez, today accused the PP of Cartagena to "sell" the natural heritage of the town and go for a socioeconomic model "failed and based on speculation."
Rodriguez was speaking after learning that the government team in the port city has ruled favorably on the revised text of the new general plan, including the downgrading of the unspoilt cove of Cala Reona.
"This is a new environmental collapse of the Popular Party, instead of going toward protecting natural spaces has decided on its destruction, with the consequent threat to neighboring protected areas," he assured.
In his opinion, "the logical, reasonable and moderate is to defend the preservation of the environment linked to the promotion of quality tourism, which does not pass through the accumulation of estates as an example of predator production model obsolete."
