The Technical University of Cartagena held this year for the first time a summer course outside the region, particularly in Valencia.
The Governing Council has approved the UPCT the proposal submitted by the Vice President for Student and University Extension that includes the completion of a total of 38 summer courses.
These will take place between the months of June and July at various venues in the city of Cartagena, as well as in Murcia, La Union, San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar, Lorca, White, Caravaca and Cieza.
The course of architecture and museums to be held in Valencia has been done in collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Valencia and the general direction of Fine Arts of the Autonomous Region and will be held in the cities of Cartagena, Valencia and Murcia.
The Vice Chancellor for Student and University Extension, Francisco Martinez, stressed the importance of boosting the summer courses at other locations: "In this way we allow a greater number of citizens to access some courses that are characterized by the quality of its participants ".

The Governing Council also approved new initiatives of the Vice President of Convergence and Quality to continue to promote excellence in programs UPCT.
Specifically, it has launched a call for aid, which will allow the adjustment of all the halls of the University to the requirements of the European Higher Education Area (Bologna), so that all classes where needed next year with whiteboards and projectors audiovisual have them.
Also, approved the extension UPCT AUDIT program, with which the University has received a national award by the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Instruction (ANECA) to all places of the educational institution.
This system will allow to evaluate the quality of all schools of the University under the same parameters, which will result in improved teaching quality.
It has also authorized a call for aid to projects that are committed to educational innovation.
These new measures are in addition to others that were launched last year and will continue this year as they are, among others, development of service charters in UPCT, scholarships for teachers of reference in the European Higher Education Area Superior, the promotion of international mobility and support programs for innovation and creativity.
