The main novelty of this year's Half Marathon City of Cartagena, San Juan de Dios Trophy, will be to a new circuit which will tour the old town.
The announcement was the Councillor for Sports, Alonso Gómez López, in presenting its seventeenth edition will be held on Sunday March 7, at a distance of 21.97 kilometers.
Next to the council, was the president of Athletics Club Cartagena, Francisco Morales, who stressed the effort that has been done by designing this new circuit, caused by the execution of works and the desire of most runners because the inclusion emblematic streets of downtown, such as Calle del Carmen and Doors Murcia.
Morales also noted that participation is expected to hover around the five hundred athletes.
For his part, Councillor for Sports explained the details of the test:
Entries cost 10 euros, as the past year, and must be made before March 5.
Each runner will carry a chip to measure the time and develop the classification and end of the race will be given a bag with gifts and souvenirs.
The test will begin at ten o'clock, from the car park of the athletics track, which ends later.
The different categories of tests will range from juniors to veterans, male and female, and disabled.
The winner of each category will be a ham, and a trophy the top five.
To initial this great festival of sport, the test will conclude with a tasting of a giant paella among all participants.
