The regional government has approved a grant of 45,000 euros to the transport company and Coach Lines, Inc., official licensee of transport between Cartagena and Murcia bound for the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), in order to reduce the cost of service university public transport and improve service.
This support of the Ministry of Universities, Business and Research will continue to apply a reduction of approximately 50 percent in transportation costs of the university community to UPCT.
In this way, students make use of the bonds of this company will benefit from a discount of 3.60 euros per round trip service.
In 2008, the number of vouchers used by the university to travel by bus to their schools in the UPCT was 631, and in 2009 reached 920, representing an increase of 46 percent.
The aim is to encourage regular use of public transport of passengers, which involves an optimization of resources, energy savings, travel safety, environmental protection and savings by households.
