This morning was held at the IES Los Molinos Intercentros VI Chess Tournament that this school has organized in collaboration with the Department of Youth of the City of Cartagena and the Chess Federation of the Region of Murcia.
In the competition participated 100 pupils aged between 10 and 18, from 14 colleges and institutes in the municipality.
In the category of 10 to 13 years have won Heredia Alvaro Navarro, of San Juan Bosco (Salesians), Enrique Martínez Céspedes, the José María Lapuerta, and Rubén Angel Ortega Bernal, the Virgen del Carmen.
In the older than 13 years, the winners were: Jesus Ocariz Gallego, Isaac Peral Institute, which eventually prevailed in his brother, Francisco Javier Gallego Ocariz, also of Isacc Peral, leaving Jaime García de Murcia third of Ben Arabi.
For teams, the first being the IES Los Molinos, followed by José María Lapuerta and IES Mediterranean.
In the awards have been with the center's director, Francisco Granados, Youth Councillor, Ruth María Collado, and regional president of the Chess Federation, Antonio Gallego.
The tournament has been held for six years continuously with the aim of promoting the sport among school intellectual basis.
Its main architect was Professor at IES Los Molinos, María Teresa Sánchez, who even after his retirement, continues to participate in its organization, with its current head, Borja Cano.
