The NGO is considering sending another contingent, under the requirements that demand the country's authorities
Members of the NGO Action Fire displaced to Haiti since 22 January have cooperated in the work of shoring up two hospitals, La Paz and Kings, particularly in those rooms that were in worse condition and therefore obsolete, at the risk of collapse.
With this action, it has been able to pass the pediatric outpatient clinics who were in tents in the open, to hospitals.
"We have also redirected the damaged pipeline was causing outbreaks of infection, to avoid potential problems with diseases such as dengue, which can even be fatal," said the coordinator of the emergency brigade in Haiti Cesar Wandosell.
For its part, the medical staff has been working in operating rooms and emergency department, along with other members of the Spanish International Cooperation Agency (AECI).
This is a total of ten people, six firefighters and emergency rescue specialist, two nurses and two doctors, all belonging to the NGO Action Fire, displaced to Haiti to offer assistance to the disaster.
Currently, they are working in a refugee camp of about 600 people away from Puerto Principe, in the village of Leogan, where to date there was no help arrived.
"Our partners provide medical care, while we try to organize the camp with the construction of such containers to deposit waste and improved hygiene."
More help
On the other hand, the emergency coordinator, Luis Martínez Rivero, said that it is considering sending another team of aid workers to areas where it still has not reached any kind of help, but for now are waiting to know types of needs are now.
