The Secondary School Ben Arabi, the Directorate General of Promotion, Management and Academic Innovation and CajaMurcia Foundation, in collaboration with the Department of Education of the City of Cartagena, convened the thirteenth edition of the prestigious award Jacinto Alcaraz Mellado.
This is a prize for solidarity, tolerance and coexistence that was created in 1997 in Cartagena IES Ben Arabi in memory of the teacher who practiced his profession in the center.
The aim is to reward those individuals or institutions that have outstanding work for solidarity, tolerance and coexistence at the regional level.
This year the prize Jacinto Alcaraz Mellado is worth 900 euros and a sculpture for the open mode (persons, institutions, associations or NGOs), 300 euros and a sculpture to form schools (schools that promote the values awarded); and 300 euros and a sculpture for the type of students (students who have distinguished themselves in any of the values of the prize.)
The deadline for proposals is open until March 10, 2010.
