The government delegate in the Region of Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, met this morning with representatives of the Association of Residents of Barrio Peral, Cartagena.

González Tovar, who has led talks between ADIF and the city of Cartagena, said they are very advanced, which will allow soon the town will be beneficiary of the old rail corridor at the entrance to Cartagena and existing halt Barrio del Peral.
The figure used in this negotiation is the expropriation of urban land use payment, ie, the City of Cartagena permutaría with ADIF these other buildable land of equal value.
The delegate said that from now on, the Council can be submitted as draft to the new State Fund for Employment and Local Sustainability using the railway line as a way for the development of sustainable mobility, because this is the desire neighbors and the town have full availability of the land to act accordingly.
He also noted that, by its nature, this action could receive full funding of the State Fund, so that is committed with the leaders of the Association of Residents of Barrio Peral citizen to support this claim if filed with the City Council the Government Office.
González Tovar has expressed satisfaction over the agreement "and that good management of the Government of Spain allows citizens of Cartagena to satisfy their claims at no cost to city coffers."
