The head of IU Environment in the Region, Victoria Rodriguez, said today that the Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, "lied" when he asserted that the planning of green belt in the hamlet of Alumbres Cartagena was performed.
According to Rodriguez, Cerda said in the Regional Assembly that the planning was done and to be presented to the neighbors, but "the limitation of municipal land green belt, which is not even a tenth of what should be an area of environmental protection , show otherwise. "
In this regard, the Government has required the city of Murcia and Cartagena planning to develop "real" of a green belt that encompasses environmental groups, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) and neighborhood associations in the affected villages.
"The fact that it made only a green belt is useless but it requires companies to no longer exceed the limits on emissions of certain pollutants and to apply standards of prevention," he concluded.
