In order to improve the appearance of the streets pedestrian streets of the Old Town, the Department of Infrastructure of the City of Cartagena has launched an action taken to eliminate the solid waste containers that currently exist permanently and leave two collection points where containers are placed only at night, to then proceed to remove them at midnight.
This initiative will begin operations on February 1 and transform the garbage collection process in the new pedestrian zone, which includes the Puerta de Murcia, calle Jara, Air and Street Street Santa Florentina.
The measure will be to permanently remove two of the collection points, which are the Escorial Street (behind the Bank of Santander) and the Air Street Plaza corner of San Sebastian.
In the other two points, such as Jara Street (between Banesto and Hotel Cartagenera) and Air Street Bar corner with the barrel, the containers will be placed after 20.00 hours and to proceed to remove the 24.00 hours so that residents have four hours to deposit their bags in trash containers.
Also, in regard to the collection of commercial paper and cardboard, will continue in the manner provided so far, ie between 14.00 and 16.00 hours, getting a look from 22.30 hours up to 24 hours.
Since infrastructure has appealed to both properties in the area as neighbors, to respect the schedule for the collection of garbage, and do not take their bags out of this schedule.
