Councillor for Youth and Employment, Ruth Collins, presented today along with Antonia Madrid Guijarro, Deputy Chair of the Bancaja Young Entrepreneurs UPCT, activities related to the promotion of entrepreneurship jointly planned for 2010, and the second study research on entrepreneurial skills among secondary school students.
For Councillor, it is important to work together that we are carrying out in coordination with the INFO UPCT and to carry out a series of actions to promote entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship among students, with particular emphasis on early stages of training, student-led initiatives around the ESO and Baccalaureate.
With regard to research work has been presented, analyzed the entrepreneurial spirit of students of 3 º ESO in secondary schools, both public and entered into, the municipality of Cartagena, in particular have made 474 surveys where more data Highlights include the analysis of the relationship between the student and the chosen role model, showing that the 'mother' is the main figure.
Thus, the 48.58% of students choosing the mother as his role model to follow, while the figure of the 'father' is relevant only in 28.98% of cases.
However, despite the great importance of the figure of the mother and professional guidance, the results show that it is the 'father' which further develops mentoring activities with the children.
In particular, items related to the 'Professional Development' which emphasizes efforts to acquaint students with the professional life of model behavior, the parent most often performed such activities compared with the mother.
If the above analysis is done considering the entrepreneurial behavior model, we obtain important differences.
In fact, the parent entrepreneur to make greater efforts mentors with students that the parent does not employer / a.
For analysis of entrepreneurial skills (self, vision, motivation, planning and communication), students scored higher values for their ability to work together and find new friends.
Furthermore, less valued items are the ability to evaluate what they do at all times, and influence others.
The analysis by gender of the student interesting results.
While male students have more power to use their skills when compared with female students are female students who show greater capacity for assuming responsibility and teamwork.
Finally, with respect to business preferences, the students showed a broad list of possible business interest.
Specifically, include activities that are highly commercial and large preferred the 29.54% of students opted for these activities.
More specifically in this group include activities such as marketing of clothing and accessories (8.44%), computers (3.38%), hotels (4.22%), sales of cars and accessories (4435).
The next block in terms of importance is the question of health and service to the community with a 10.55%.
In third place is the block of professional services with a 8.02%, collecting consulting activities.
The study therefore complies with its main objectives: to analyze the entrepreneurial potential of students, identify their business preferences and identify the most influential agent, thus generating the necessary information to guide the development of specific workshops and activities to meet identified needs .
Thus, as noted Antonia Madrid during exposure of the study, the results give rise to a series of recommendations, including the fact that entrepreneurs would be interesting to develop workshops aimed at parents, with particular emphasis on the figure of the mother.
Well and, given the high commercial and business services in the preferences, you should move forward and deepen the development of regular conferences on engineering projects, science and innovation on which we approach the student to a different technological subjects easily.
