The town of Cartagena is the first town in the peninsula with the highest number of blue flags, together with Fuengirola which also has seven.
The City Council wants to maintain and even improve this important position and for these, as noted by the Councillor for Infrastructure, José Vicente Albaladejo, E Plan as falling within the various projects amounting to two million euros to improve the quality of services of and water facilities, especially in the western coast.
The mayor was speaking at the opening of Technical lasJornadas Organized by the Blue Flag ADEAC, which were held this morning at the Museo del Teatro Romano and also have had its inauguration in the presence of the Councillor for Tourism, Javier Herrero.
The conference has presented the new Blue Flag Campaign, its goals and philosophy, international repercussions, and how are candidates.
Albaladejo Vicente explained that the purpose of this conference is to bring together technicians from the region to highlight the mechanisms currently being pursued in our country for the award of such distinctions.
Javier Herrero for his part has said that the fact that this conference held in Cartagena is a recognition by the association that gives the blue flags, as this is the second consecutive year that are held in our city.

Among these actions is the launch of a new treatment plant in San Ginés and entroque of El Mojon in Isla Plana to the sewerage network.
