Local Development Agency and Employment and the Health Service of Murcia have gotten over 2009 social integration work of 47 people with mental health problems, thanks to a collaboration agreement to develop a project that also involved the Association Murcia Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Community Integration Association of Mentally Ill of Cartagena and its surroundings (APIC).
Through this agreement, the ADLE has sought to improve employment opportunities for integration of this group, by conducting workshops and activities that encourage autonomy, independence and social integration.
The implementation of this program has helped improve the vocational training to facilitate the incorporation of work, through three pre-employment workshops: maintenance, building and gardening equipment, playground monitor and printing workshop.
The maintenance shop, building and gardening kit has been developed on the exterior and gardens of Youth and Employment Center Quarry, participating by 22 users.
There are many activities that the students were able to develop throughout the workshop, as the removal of walls, construction of manholes, water drainage basins; installation of drip irrigation and sprinklers, painted in different places, construction of toilets, maintenance of gardens and pruning, and exterior maintenance.
During the workshop pre-work playground monitor, developed in a classroom at the Rehabilitation Unit of Cartagena, the 15 participating students developed activities related to the organization and conduct of recreational activities, recreational activities theoretical training related to children; training and career counseling, use of new technologies, assistance to entertainment events as part of tutorials, practical sessions.
The printing workshop has been developed on the premises of APIC, DE10 involving users and the training has been composed of modules of binding, printing on different materials, printing, plastic-making creativity and professional gifts.
