Cartagena Port of Cultures and the Roman Theatre Foundation proposed for this Christmas's workshop 'Build the Roman Town' for families with children aged between 6 and 12 years.
The workshop aims to teach families to build a Roman city, including also a visit to the Museum and Teatro Romano, Decumano and Casa de la Fortuna.
Through a didactic model, families have to build the ideal Roman city, knowing the buildings and spaces, in short, the typical urban Romans.
At the same time, they must be moving all these aspects to the city of Carthago-Nova, allowing to know the past and the city's Roman heritage.
The activity lasts approximately three hours.
First, families are received in the hall and accompanied to the classroom teaching.
Then the monitor explains the parts of the workshop and with a fun game between teams will be constructed by the participants a Roman city.
After the workshop will continue with the corresponding visit the Roman Theatre and subsequently moved to the Casa de la Fortuna and Decumano to see a real image of a part of the architecture of the time.
The objectives of this workshop are to present the planning and the concept of ideal Roman city, the main buildings and their use, as well as bringing families to the political, religious and Roman social and transfer these concepts to Roman Cartagena to know our history and heritage.
Teamwork, respect and appreciation of the artistic heritage are other values that are promoted through the completion of this workshop.
