Thousands of faithful pilgrims next year 2010 at Santa Lucia for obtaining the Jubilee, after Pope Benedict XVI has granted an exception to the diocese of Cartagena jubilee celebration of St. James in this parish, which according to tradition was the first in Spain founded by the Apostle Santiago.
The program of events for this Jubilee Year has been presented to the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, by the pastor, Sebastian Chico, the vicar of the diocese, José Abellán, and representatives of St. James Confraternity of St. Lucia.
