The president of the homeowners association of the Barrio Peral, Eduardo Martinez, today held a meeting with the mayor in which he expressed his satisfaction and appreciation for the government talks team with ADIF (the owner of the railroad tracks) for the implementation of a greenway project that will link the barrier with the center.
According to Martinez, the fact that the first phase of this action, ranging from the rotunda of The Barriers to the Mandarache, ie the old route of the train as it passes through the Pearl District, is included in the second call of Plan E, it means that the project will be conducted in 2010 and, therefore, is real with real dates.
During his visit to the mayor, the president of the A.VV.
Barrio Peral has also asked that either itself or through the Town Planning, Joaquín Segado, make the necessary arrangements with ADIF to include in the proposed Greenway halt the rehabilitation of the neighborhood, a landmark building part of the historical heritage of the city and once recovered, be allocated to the Pearl District Scout Group for use and maintenance.
In the folder 'tips', Eduardo Martinez has also exposed the need Pilar Barreiro, building works, improve communications and access to the Pearl District.
So far, the only access road to the neighborhood is down the street Submarine, however we understand that, now that we are arranging an extension of Angel Bruna could establish a connection for the new streets that pass through Hispania and Mercadona school.
In this sense, the mayor is committed to the company that is developing the preliminary meeting with representatives of the homeowners association to collect this type of suggestions that result in improvements for the neighborhood.
Remember that the Greenway project, a first step, convert the old railway track in a converted between pedestrians and bicycles, with large green areas and games, with a length of nearly two kilometers.
