The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, announced today the Cabinet has approved this morning an agreement designating the ports where they will be permitted landing and transhipment of fish products and the provision of port services for ships third countries.
Among the ports of Cartagena is located.
Spain thus fulfilling the obligation under the rules of the European Union to Prevent, deter and eliminate illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
The ports selected are those that have done most of the landing and transshipment of fishery products caught and / or transported by vessels of third countries in the past three years.
The designated ports are in addition to Cartagena, Bilbao, Santander, Gijón, La Coruña, Ribeira, the poor do Caramiñal, Arousa, Marin, Vigo (port area), Huelva, Cádiz, Algeciras, Malaga, Almeria, Alicante, Valencia, Castellón, Tarragona, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
