Interior Minister Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba, accompanied by the Director General of Police and Civil Guard, Francisco Javier Velázquez, today opened the new premises of the police in Cartagena (Murcia).
The old station has now been completely refurbished and modernized, a performance that involved an investment of 2,698,683 euros.

The works performed on the existing building, situated at Menéndez Pelayo 6, have provided new police facilities communications infrastructure, electrical, computer, air conditioning and elevators.
In addition, the interior layout of the building has been updated and adapted to the new police operational criteria.
The building has a total constructed area of 2996.60 m2, retains its previous structure and has only increased its volume in a plant, built on the roof.
In addition, the exterior of the station has been coated painted aluminum panels, which have completely transformed its appearance and give a more modern and current.
