A total of 800 young people from areas of Castellón, Valencia, Alicante, Albacete and Murcia, gathered to enjoy a wide range of activities.
The event took place at the third edition of Day of the Don Bosco Federations of the Region of Murcia and Valencia, and with the aim of offering a playful relationship between young people who participate actively and continuously in youth associations belonging to either of these two federations.
The night tore at ten and had the theme of Carthaginians and Romans, as a backdrop and setting of the activities to be performed.
Thus, the meeting was started with the parade and the opening ceremony.
Over it went to the young people attending the presidents of the two Federations organizing, Antonio José Barcelona by the Region of Murcia and Raul Hernandez Valencia, director of the Salesian Work Candido Cartagena Orduna and President of the Youth Council of the Region of Murcia, Agustin Llamas, Councillor for Youth and the City of Cartagena, Ruth Collins, who welcomed the city to all attendees and acknowledged the work of Don Bosco and Federations member youth associations, especially the one made by the Anchor Youth Centre, an organization hosting the event and has now 20 years building a remarkable job of promoting child and youth associations in Cartagena.
Championship sports soccer, football and basketball 3x3, acoustic concerts, dance exhibitions, non-alcoholic concoctions contest, tent gaming, simulations of the effects of drunken driving, bouncy, bull riding, archery, DJ session , photomontages, panels of expression, among others, were some of the activities that managed to keep awake all participants until seven in the morning, when held memories delivering attendees and farewell.
The wide range of programmed activities made it possible, at dawn on Saturday, participants use the opportunity to give an example to the society of enormous creative potential of young associates.
A potential that this time was reflected in the demonstration that it is possible to enjoy intensely, for an entire night until seven in the morning, doing leisure activities and healthy alternatives to avoid, therefore, the risks to health that are associated with other types of leisure and consumer liabilities.
In addition to support from the Youth Council, this initiative has been carried out thanks to the collaboration of other institutions like the Youth Council of Cartagena, the Institute of Youth in the Region of Murcia, the Caja Mediterranean as well as other groups linked to the Salesian of Cartagena and some private sponsors.
Don Bosco federations and youth associations integrated in them are nonprofit entities working in the field of education in leisure time for the defense and promotion of children and youth.
Through socio-cultural activities, these entities seek to enhance youth participation and volunteering, health promotion, equal opportunities, cultural coexistence and environmental education.
There are more than 130 youth groups and 3,500 young volunteers who belong to this movement that is present throughout the Spanish territory and serves more than 70,000 beneficiaries.
