Cartagena Local Police carried out during the month of November, from 9 to 22, a campaign on the use of mobile phones while driving.
In this campaign involving all police operational units, both serving in the various city councils, where they have obtained the following results:
- They have controlled a total of 5,481 vehicles, which has come to stop to 932, representing 17% of the total.
- There have been 14 complaints for driving the vehicle using your mobile phone driver, representing 0.25% of total vehicles checked.
- There have been three complaints for driving the vehicle driver using your headphones or earphones connected to audio players or receivers, other than the mobile phone, representing a 0,054% of total vehicles.
- No driver has been no tampering while driving monitors, internet access or web browsers.
- It has made a complaint about other behaviors that cause distraction on driving, which represents 0.018% of total vehicles.
- 58 drivers were detected utilizing a hands-free device to talk on the phone, representing a 1,058% of all vehicles checked.
The local police checks have been carried out during the November fall into National Road Safety Education Campaign 2009, which has deployed the Traffic Department.
