The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, today announced that the Ministry of Development, through the Railway Infrastructure Administrator (ADIF), has tendered projects geological and geotechnical mapping of the Red Blood Cartagena Railway, which eventually allow high speed to the city.

The total amount of the three bids amounting to 530,000 euros.

Contracts are tendered and necessary step for the construction project of the Red Blood Cartagena Railway, which includes a path of 1.1 km.

The scope runs almost entirely underground until the arrival of the new station planned, located in the same place of the current station in Cartagena Adif.

It also provides a branch project called "Dock 400 meters, also underground, two-way, and a provisional way Iberian gauge running on the surface to ensure the conventional service during the execution of works.

Contracts tendered

- Drafting of the Geological Survey Geotechnical RAF Cartagena City, amounting to 450,000 euros.

- Service contract for the completion of the mapping for the remodeling of the arterial railway networks of Murcia and Cartagena, contract amounting to 80,000 euros.

The two bids are financed by the Company Cartagena High Speed, which begins following the agreement signed between the Ministry of Development, the Government of the Region of Murcia, the city of Cartagena and ADIF for the remodeling of the arterial network of the railway city of Cartagena, which allow high speed input in the city and, therefore, provides for an adjustment for urban improvement of the railway environment.

In the city of Cartagena, the following actions are contemplated in the covenant of the Company Murcia High Speed

The adaptation of rail access to the advent of high speed rail corridor Madrid-Levante, including the burial of the existing railway line.

The refurbishment of the existing railway station in Cartagena, taking into account their adaptation to the underground rail corridor.
