The Youth Council of the City of Cartagena, through the Young Area has a total of 103 concecido Youth Erasmus grants, to students living in the city of Cartagena, with the aim to encourage, motivate and help young students in their educational and career opportunities abroad.

Has awarded 87 grants of 350 euros for the Erasmus University and 16 150 euros aid for vocational training Erasmus.

It is the third year that such aid is granted, counting in the year 2009, with several new features, such as including among its beneficiaries Vocational students, expand ISEP Program Aid, with Canada, USA.

States and include the ILA program, with Latin America, including new educational destinations.

With the expansion in this year's Youth Aid Erasmus students FP, the Youth Council of the City of Cartagena, makes this program in the broadest and most coverage, and a novelty with respect to municipal mobility programs .

Erasmus Scholarship students in Vocational Training Vocational Training, has enabled Europe to carry out Module Training at Work (Business Practice), students of the Institute Carlos III, School of Hospitality and Mediterranean IES ( the largest group).

Placements have been made in France, Italy, Norway, etc.

For their part, students undertaking studies Cartagena both inside and outside the Region, in universities such as Valencia, Granada, Madrid, Seville, Cadiz, etc. Have come to study at universities in Italy, France, UK, Portugal, Czech Republic, Romania and Puerto Rico, among others.

The number of applications received this year 2009 was 108, of which five did not meet the requirements to participate in the call, so I have been assisted 103 applicants.

The selection criteria of the call for aid has been:

- Academic average mark

- Length of stay abroad

- Large Family (General or Special)

Cartagena City Council has allocated a total of 32,850 euros, this type of aid, thus underscoring the municipal commitment for a program that considers the incentives for training as an essential tool for the qualitative growth of Cartagena.
