The Councillor for Social Care, Antonio Calderon, has delivered to The Huertecica the last municipal subsidy amounting to 51,641 euros, which added to the amounts given by the City Council earlier this group that caters to drug addicts, amounting to a total of 133,281 euros.
The delivery of this aid came during a visit by the council to the facilities of the San Diego street.
In these new units have been served since it opened last July about 300 people.
The amounts received by the Huertecica, are contained in the Collaboration Agreement signed with the city of Cartagena, within the framework of the Municipal Plan of Action on Drug Addiction, for the operation of the shelter and care for people with substance abuse problems.
The collective of the Huertecica is a nonprofit association, which has among its objectives the rehabilitation and social reintegration of drug addicts, and is part of the City Commission of Drug Addiction.
For its part, the Municipal Plan of Action on Drug Addiction aims to ensure a united response to the living situation of drug dependency by providing comprehensive assistance that will enable them to promote his rehabilitation and social integration, for once the abuse problems of drug use.
