The Minister of Health, María Ángeles Palacios, and the Mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, today inaugurated the primary care clinics and the Albujón Cuesta Blanca.
The two centers are prepared to provide health care to 8,000 people, 5,500 of them in the Albujón and 2,500 in Cuesta Blanca.
The new Primary Care Clinic The Albujón belongs to the district health-Pozo Estrecho Cartagena and is situated at Captain Cortes.
In their construction and equipment the Department has invested more than 395,000 euros and the city of Cartagena contributed 375,600.
On a floor of 343 sq meters are distributed two family medicine clinics, a pediatric nursing and three priests, one devoted to childcare.
Blanca Cuesta center belongs to the basic health zone of Cartagena-Mills Marfagones and is on the road from Mazarrón.
For remodeling the old office, Health allocated EUR 102,700 and the municipality of Cartagena 17,870.
Cuesta Blanca facilities house a family practice setting, a nursing and pediatrics, distributed in 108 square footage.
The new units have Albujón Cuesta Blanca and data network for the entire building, which enables the use of computerized medical record, and its connection with other healthcare facilities.
