Ryuchi Sakamoto (Tokyo, 1952), who has just released Playing the piano and Out of noise, again touring solo after ten years and comes on Thursday 19 November to Cartagena Jazz Festival with all the tickets already sold.

The Japanese musician, tireless experimenter plays with sounds, with harmony and noise.

Has developed a great career characterized by cross musical boundaries and technology.

Has experienced and triumphed in many different musical styles to become one of the most respected composers and performers worldwide in the field of popular music, soundtracks and orchestrated music.

Always on the lookout for new experiences and forms of musical expression has never ceased in its efforts to expand the established limits, which is often a pioneer in the mix of styles and technologies, taking his art to new areas previously unexplored.

Claiming influences from Beethoven to The Beatles, the Ryuchi Sakamoto's musical interests are unusually diverse: pop, techno-pop, jazz, bossa nova, classical, contemporary, acoustic, electric, film music for the world music scene.

Founding member of legendary band Yellow Magic Orchestra has composed soundtracks for 18 films including major and independent film productions.
