The new hospital will serve the municipalities of the Area II (Cartagena, Mazarron, Fuente Alamo and La Union), which will involve more than 276,000 inhabitants.
With this, the city of Cartagena will become the only staffed by two general hospitals in operation, Santa Maria del Rosell Hospital and the new center, while the Naval hospital will no longer be in operation.
There will be more than 900 beds in 328 in the new Rosell and 633 beds for the new hospital.
The new building is consistent with the growth of the city, with the latest technology and a portfolio of services, making it one of the best in the region, stressed Ramón Luis Valcárcel.

The opening of the new center also houses facilities such as sports courts and swimming pools and a mall with supermarkets, bars, other businesses.
