The Foundation Carmen Conde-Antonio Oliver, with the collaboration of the Culture Department of the City of Cartagena, will launch the Hall of Carmen Conde, meeting place where poets can present their creations and concerns to amateur literary genre , a forum, which until now lacked the city.
In Cartagena, there is great concern about the poetry, we intend to cover in this space will be named after the great writer and poet Cartagena, Carmen Conde, said the Councillor for Culture, Rosario Montero, in presenting this great novelty and of its programming for 2009-2010.
This cultural event begins tomorrow, November 13 and runs through June, with the participation of established and new poets, in a monthly meeting to be held every Friday at the headquarters of the Municipal Archives, located in the Park Artillery, at 20.00 hours.
This room has a double purpose, first, bridging the gap poetry that exists in the city, and secondly, to publicize the work of different poets.
The opening ceremony will take place tomorrow, with the assistance of Cartagena Joaquín Ortega Parra, renowned writer, with over 50 national and international awards behind her, and that also was a friend of Carmen Conde.
I started with poetry at 16 and 60 years later, I linked to this world, so it is my honor to open this new poetry event in town, Joaquín Ortega stressed.
Councilwoman Montero Rosario explained that these days, which has had the collaboration of poets Cartagena, Antonio Marín Albalate and Juan de Dios Garcia, are the starting point to take place in Cartagena, a monthly gathering of poetry with the assistance of audiences of all ages.
