PREVENT FROM CHILDHOOD

Osteoporosis is considered one of the most common diseases in our country, suffered primarily by women.

In recent years, has now become a global public health problem that affects over 200 million people worldwide.

In Spain, an estimated 3.5 million people with osteoporosis and each year there are over 100,000 osteoporotic fractures.

It therefore constitutes a public health problem of great magnitude on its prevalence, morbidity and mortality caused by it and by the consumption of medical resources involved.

The simple implementation of hygienic-dietary measures and the establishment of diagnostic densitometry testing in people at risk, not only help prevent its onset, but also serve to minimize the associated complications.

The tendency is to direct prevention efforts toward younger, trying to create healthy eating habits, such as the Mediterranean diet, rich in calcium and vitamin D, avoiding a sedentary lifestyle and cope with anorexia, which often causes severe osteoporosis in very young girls.
