The Segura basin (CHS) today acknowledged the extensive work of Manuel Martínez Roca del Campo de Cartagena irrigator and participation in the governing bodies of this house.
The president of the CHS, José Salvador Fuentes Zorita, has made delivery of the Insignia of the 80 th anniversary of Confederation in the Community of Irrigators of Campo de Cartagena, which is part and has been a major driver for the modernization of irrigation, as soon as it was for the arrival of the Tagus river.
Manuel Martínez Roca, popularly known as Manolo el del Pino, was born in 1935 in Balsicas, and counts among its merits to have been part for 30 years of the Governing Board of the CHS and the various Boards of exploitation of this organism.
His life as a farmer and son of farmers, has always been linked to the field.
Was a founding member of the Central Union of Irrigation Tajo-Segura and held various elected positions in various associations and agricultural unions del Campo de Cartagena, Murcia and even nationally.
Finally it was also mayor of Torre Pacheco in the transition to democracy.
