The immigrant population in Cartagena yesterday was his starring role on the esplanade of the port, with activity 'A world in your place', in which 28 municipal associations participated in this event, where the prevailing culture, folklore and gastronomy.
It was organized by the Department of Social Services of the City of Cartagena and Murcia Association Welcomes and CAM through its program 'CAM Meeting. "
The third edition was attended by more than 6,000 people who participated in a dozen workshops, tasting of typical dishes and a dance from different nationalities, as well as the conduct of games and tattoos, which allowed a bit more diverse cultures, such as Moroccan, Ecuadorian, umbrella or Romanian.
This initiative, which takes place in different municipalities in the region every year, aims to promote the participation of immigrant communities, raise awareness of different cultures in our city from a recreational perspective, and to promote coexistence.
Remember that 14 percent of the population are immigrants from Cartagena, as recently pointed out the mayor, the most numerous Ecuadorians and Moroccans.
