The president of the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura (CHS), José Salvador Fuentes Zorita, visited today the completion of the works on the Rambla de Los Fuentes, in the hamlet of Los Sanchez Cartagena, where the basin organization has protected mote the right bank to improve the hydraulic function of the channel in defense of the population, especially in times of heavy rainfall.
The protection of the channel was made with half-ton riprap along a stretch of about 300 meters.
In addition, the CHS has built a service road of the boardwalk that, while allowing access to that village of Los Sanchez, from the road Ports Up to Perín.
Once removed the reeds and alien vegetation existing in the Rambla de Los Fuentes, actions have been divided into three phases: first, fixing and compaction of the knoll on the right bank, the second phase, the protection of the speck by careada breakwater of 500 kilograms, and the third, including a guardrail with wood from 1.2 meters to avoid falls.
In addition, the CHS has placed a breakwater protecting a foundation of one meter and 1.20 meters high.
The road has a width of 5 meters and was built with a layer of gravel 40 cm thick, while that have been placed wooden banister rails for protection of pedestrians and vehicles along the entire path.
It has also been protected with riprap on the left bank of the gully in the eroded areas to prevent degradation.
