AUTHOR, HISTORIAN AND ARTICLES
Born December 12, 1925, Alberto Colao was one of the main advocates of promoting Cartagena's history through his own writings, including books, biographies and articles, and the many collections which now make up your library.
The category of 'great intellectual' who was with him the was developed over his lifetime, beginning with a BA in Hebrew Literature from the University of Montpellier, who completed studies in Switzerland and Germany before returning to Cartagena to inaugurate the Editorial Athenas.
His collection brought together almarjal an extensive repertoire of titles on the history and literature of Cartagena and if it was felt, especially Cartagena, did not hesitate to criticize, yes, ironically, what I most wanted and what always showed great knowledge, his city.
He was a member of the Academia Alfonso X El Sabio de Murcia, director of San Isidoro Library and Cultural Hall of the CAM, and in recognition of his work and his person, Cartagena put his name to the residence hall next to Regional Assembly.
Colao died on December 9, 1981, but still present, now more than ever, through the documentary heritage to be managed over the next year by the Municipal Archives.
